CHARLIE’S ANGELS VS THE BIONIC WOMAN #4

Jamie Sommers visits Oscar Goldman as he works out. The two spar while Jaime finds out what he knows about the Adrenalizine. Later the angels are discussing how they can break into the safe even after Jaime gave them her key. A knock at the door reveals Jaime with a plan to do just that. So she sneaks the angels into Naris in the trunk of her car. Then sets up a security checkpoint to replace Oscar’s keys with phony ones. Then they go and try to open the vault and guess at the password. Only Oscar noticed the theft and comes there and takes Andrenalizine to fight Jaime. Yet Jaime manages to convince Oscar to help her. He does and they get the formula.

Well this had to be the lamest comic I ever read. What a dumb story. Just a lot of moralizing and talking and not much else happening. This the second time Dynamite messed up a crossover series. I hope they aren’t going to make a habit of this. So I hope you all have a Merry Christmas.

Kelly manages to sneak out plans to the safe at Naris despite Jaime Sommers looking around at the security agency. The angels find out they need two keys to get into the safe. One from Jaime and the other Oscar Goldman. Jaime meanwhile wonders why she can’t catch these new thieves and why they wear halter tops. She gets curious and looks at the formula she guards and finds out that it is a cure for paralysis but the evil corporation would rather use it to create super soldiers. She goes to Dr. Rudy Wells and finds out he invented the formula and hired the Townsend Detective Agency.

Well we get some answers to who the mysterious inventor is. Now Jaime finds out she is probably working for an evil corporation. Couldn’t see that coming a mile away. Filled with lots of solo soliloquies and talking about stuff. A really dull story and not really optimistic of it improving in the final issue.

Jaime confronts the three ski-mask wearing angels who have infiltrated the Naris corporation. Jaime is a bit overconfident as one of them manages to punch her in the stomach. Then the three split up. Jaime goes after one of them but she manages to elude her. Another gets the bug they planted and the three angels meet up and cover their escape by blowing up their car. Later Jaime is sparring with Oscar and discusses how she feels bad about losing the intruders. She also has a theory that they bugged the corporation. Meanwhile Bosley and two of the angels talk about how bad it is that the inventor can’t get his formula back legally. Kelly infiltrates the Stoker Security agency which contracts to Naris for blueprints to the corporation. She has to hide as Jaime visits Stoker Security to see if the plans are safe.

Well this second issue was very underwhelming. Not a lot happens and we get a lot of talking and other stuff happening which is not very exciting. The art isn’t all that visually exciting either. Maybe it will pick up in the next issue.

1983 The Naris Corporation at night. Three masked figures are going to scale the wall when a spotlight is turned on. Cut to the office at the Townsend Detective Agency. The three girls known as Charlie’s Angels are getting their next assignment from Charles Townsend. They have been hired by an inventor of a formula that can cure paralysis and grant short term superhuman strength. The formula was sold off to the Naris Corporation after the corporation the inventory was working at went out of business. So the Angels must infiltrate Naris and take back the formula that is rightfully the property of this inventor. Oh and the inventor hired someone else that failed so Naris is on alert. At the beach where Townsend is calling the office Jaime Sommers is eavesdropping.

So back to the three figures breaking in. Jaime manages to scare them off by throwing a tree branch through a tree. The Angels start with their plan. First one gets the name of a secretary that works at Naris at a bar. Then another flirts with a delivery man to have them let into the corporation underground parking lot. The others are in the trunk, exit and put on ski masks. Only they are confronted by Jaime.

So this is another crossover that Dynamite decided to do. This one features two different shows from the seventies. I was never a fan of Charlie’s Angels but loved the Bionic Woman so decided to give this a try. So far it has interested me. I am curious to see where the story is going.
