The two Galactica’s viper squadrons are attacking each other. On board the Pegasus Cain notices that they aren’t hitting each other. We flash back to just after the argument between the Adamas. Apollo points out that it is Kali who wants the two to fight so that probably the Cylons can pick off the survivors. So the two Adamas come to the agreement to use Omega Protocol which both have. It is training to shoot as close as possible without hitting the target. So the viper squadrons are given the order and pretend to fight in order to lure the Cylons into the open.

Kali sees this and orders Cain to fire on both Galacticas which he does. Sheba comes in to stop her father and Kali kills her. This breaks Kali’s control and Cain breaks Kali’s neck. Then he has the Pegasus crew abandon ship. He takes the Pegasus and rams it into the Cylon basestar. Iblis manages to open a wormhole that sucks the other Galactica and its fleet back to their universe. In the end the new Galactica crew wonders what happened to the other ship. Baltar drinks to Count Iblis who he see alive and floating in space.

And so the conclusion to this crossover. I thought it was a bit irrational for the two Galacticas to fight one another and think their plan was solid. Here in this alternate universe Sheba is killed and the Pegasus destroys itself along with the Cylon basestar. It any complaint it was the issue seemed rushed to end. I suppose that is better than dragging out forever. Not a bad series. It also left open the possibility of a return.

Kali comes back to the Pegasus and finds out that Cain has arrested his daughter. She seems to understand and goes to her room. There she is reunited with Iblis who is her lover. We find out that Kali is the one who created the Cylons and planned to use them to conquer the galaxy. The technology she found has enabled Iblis to have powerful mind control. Meanwhile old Galactica has issued an ultimatum to the new Galactica. Give up Athena for questioning. Bill Adama has no intention of complying and issues the order for Omega Protocol. The two Viper squads meet and both Starbucks have a playful dogfight. Athena is left behind because she might surrender to avoid all the fighting. Sheba manages to escape from her cell.

So we finally get some more insight into the mysterious Kali. Its obvious that she was evil and now it is confirmed. Also seems her plan to set the two Galactica’s against one another is a success. Otherwise a light issue that is getting ready for the final climax.

Kali the first Cylon is meeting with Bill Adama and Colonel Tigh. She tells that she was on a world that was out of synch with time so that is how she managed to be around 1000 yahrens later. She claims to have opened the wormhole because she wanted to join their Battlestar. She also claims the other Battlestar can’t be trusted. That they will turn on them. Baltar is leading Gaius Baltar when he bumps into Kara who recognizes him and takes him prisoner. The Cylons get a visit from Count Iblis who is able to mind control the Cylons. Kali discovers that Athena is a known Cylon to the Galactica crew and decides that maybe they are not worthy of her help. The news causes a rift between the two Adamas. Sheba is arrested by her father Cain for questioning why he trusts Kali.

So there was a lot of subplots going on. The introduction of Count Iblis who has the goal of destroying humanity and taking over the Cylons. Kali who has some ulterior motive and is actively sowing dissent between the two Galacticas. She is definitely working with Iblis. Cain also seems to be under the malevolent control of Iblis and showing erratic behavior. It all flowed smoothly and is setting up something that I look forward to. I admit that this is stretching my memory of both series but I can still follow the basics and am enjoying the series so far.

The two crews of the Battlestars start to get to know their counterparts. The Tighs explore how each Battlestar functions. The Starbucks frak and Starbuck gets into a fight with Starbucks husband for fracking his wife. The wormhole opens up and the Pegasus returns. It brings with it Kali who wants to meet the Adamas. It also brings Count Baltar who goes and finds Gaius Baltar’s cell. He offers him a chance to escape if he comes with him. Six advises against it but Gaius decides to take the other Baltar’s offer.

So this issue is mostly taking the time to explore the interactions between the two crews. Obviously the two have some culture shock since one has the social mores of the seventies and the other that of the twenty-first century. Starbuck is very shocked how Kara Starbuck is so casual about her infidelity. A humorous moments is that the curse Felgercarb is a toothpaste in one universe and gets a reaction that when Starbuck utters it that “This is when he wants to brush his teeth.” There is also the mysterious Kali who seems to have a mysterious agenda and also is responsible for the wormhole. A bigger mystery is how Baltar managed to get on the Pegasus and what his plans are. So far an interesting series.

The Galactica and the fleet are pulled through a wormhole. On the other side they literally collide with another Galactica. After they untangle the ship’s Commander Adama with Apollo and Starbuck go over to the other Galactica. There they meet Admiral Adama and President Roslin and the other crew. Introductions are made and some surprise that Apollo and Starbuck are named after the call signs of Lee and Kara. Suddenly they notice that Apollo looks like Zarak and have the group arrested. They think that Apollo and Zarak may be skin jobs. A medical test reveals otherwise. At the end the Pegasus is being lead into the wormhole by the alien Kali.

So the second issue starts off strong. There is the mistrust that is there and not helped with the one crew thinking Apollo is a skin job. They manage to keep both crews in character. Apollo wonders why they need a different name to fly. There is some flirting between the Starbucks. The only complaint is the artist draws President Roslin looking like a twentysomething. She should look older to be believable as President. Otherwise a solid issue and look forward to the next.

The Battlestar Pegasus has just destroyed the Cylon bases in an epic battle. Then they warped away. Now the ship is damaged in an unknown part of space. The Galactica probably thinks they were destroyed. So while repairing the ship they get a distress call. It is from a strange lizard woman. She wants help and claims to know the location of Earth. So Cain goes down to the planet which is hollow. There he finds the woman who claims to be a Cylon. The race that created the machines. Just then Cylon raiders attack the Pegasus. They are there for the woman. Meanwhile the Galactica is also battling Cylons. The Cylons seem a bit different but the Vipers hold their own. Suddenly a wormhole opens up and pulls the fleet into it.

So this is a fascinating idea. Take the old cheezy seventies Chariots of the Gods show and combine it with the post 9/11 allegory gritty re-imaging. Only in comics could this happen. I am a fan of both versions so I am intrigued with the concept. So far it has my interest. The mysterious woman of the Cylon race is an interesting idea. So far we have only seen the one universe. The next issue should have the meeting of the Galacticas and really start to move along.
