The Okaati have arrived at Gehenna prime a desolate planet to deliver the Human fleet to the Cylons. It looks grim for the Humans. Baltar starts to deliver the Tylium but quickly turns on the Okaati. The Comitat have arrived and it looks like they are delivering the Galactica. Yet it soon becomes clear that the Galactica and Comitat are allies and attack the Cylons. They defeat the army on the planet then the Basestars. Baltar is forced to flee with Lucifer. With the Okaati defeated Adama as the current leader of the Comitat can decide their fate. He proposes that the Okaati settle on the Kiernu’s world. Since the Cylons destroyed them it is abandoned and perfect to settle on. The Comitat will watch over the Okaati and the Humans will continue on in the search for Earth.

The final issue was a very satisfying end. The Cylons were defeated and Baltar escapes to scheme again. You can’t get rid of your perfect villains. The Okaati are defeated but get a chance at redemption with the chance to settle on the Kiernu’s world. I really enjoyed this series. It had the feel of the old TV series. All the characters felt just right. Clearly the writer had a love for the series and crafted an enjoyable story. I’d love to see more Galactica from him.

The fleet has been taken by the Okaati. They plan to trade it to the Cylons for fuel. As Adama tries to find where they are taking the fleet the Comitat arrive. They demand that Adama stand trial for helping the Okaati. So he goes over and finds out the real story behind the Okaati. They were a race that destroyed their planet and started attacking others. So these victims banded together to stop them. The Comitat are open to anyone who was a victim of the Okaati with those the most current allowed to lead them. Just then Baltar sends a message and offers to exterminate the Okaati in exchange for the Galactica. The Comitat refuse for they are not murderers. So Adama joins the Comitat and accepts the chair. Now the Galactica and Comitat are united against the Cylons.

Well the story is taking some interesting turns. Now we find out the true nature of the Okaati. Also that the Comitat are very fair and not out to destroy them but just bring them to justice. Adama has control of the Comitat and leads them to a confrontation with the Cylons and Okaati. Looking forward to the grand finale.

The Okaati plan to use their ships as booster rockets for the Human fleet works perfectly. So perfectly that the Council of Twelve authorizes all the ships of the fleet to be so joined. The Humans get further bad news when a broadcast from Baltar announces that the Cylons have joined with the Comitat to hunt down both fleets. Apollo has been captured by the Comitat and is being taken to their leader. As the fleet celebrates their success at joining the ships the Okaati then implement their plan. They take all the ships and leave the Galactica alone. The Okaati were in alliance with the Cylons. It was all a plan for the Okaati to get fuel from the Cylons in exchange for delivering the Human ships.

Well this was an interesting development. So the Okaati are not the good guys they claimed to be. In fact they were from the start in league with Baltar. Now the Galactica finds itself alone with its fleet being delivered to the Cylons. It looks dark for the fate of the Human race. Yet the Comitat may not be the villains that they initially thought. Should be interesting to see how this story develops.

The Comitat are meeting with Baltar on a Cylon starbase. Baltar wants the Comitat to not attack the combined fleets of the Okaati and Humans. The Comitat refuse and threaten the Cylons if they interfere. Meanwhile a combined Human/Okaati force attack a Cylon fuel dump. They succeed and both fleets have plenty of fuel. The Okaati then propose that the Okaati ships join with the human ships so that the Okaati ships can be used as boosters to propel the slower human ships along. Adama is open to the idea and has Jolly continue to study it. Apollo has some doubts about the alliance. When a technician salvages a homing device from the Comitat drone he has it mounted on his Viper and takes off to find the Comitat. He does and their ship is huge.

So far the alliance between the two people seems to be working out. The humans now have more consumer products due to the Okaati fleet. The Cylons and Comitat aren’t forming an alliance. Interesting why Baltar doesn’t want the Comitat to attack. Yet there does seem to be something off. When the Okaati propose raiding another race and Adama refuses they come up with the proposal being a test. That does seem a bit phony. Apollo at the end meets up with the Comitat and maybe next issue we get some more answers.

The Kiernu are being eradicated by the Cylons. Their crime was not trying hard enough to stop the Galactica. Adama is surprised when a huge fleet of Okaati are escorted to them by Apollo. A meeting with the leader and they find out the story of the Okaati. They have been fleeing the Comitat for millennia. The Comitat are slavers and just then a destroyer arrives. The Galactica sides with the Okaati and drives the ship off. Apollo proposes an alliance but Adama doesn’t think that its a good idea. He does change his mind when he finds out what happened to the Kiernu. At the end the Comitat are approached by a Cylon basestar and its commander Baltar. He proposes an alliance.

“We Were Those Who Believed…A Fortieth Anniversary Remininscence”
By John Jackson Miller

The writer tells about his experience with the premier back in 1978 and why he fell in love with the show.

Hard to believe forty years have passed. I remember being a kid and watching that premier. I loved the show too and was disappointed to see it cancelled. So this second season is starting off strong. The Galactica are united with this other race of refugees. So they have allies but also pick up a new and powerful enemy. An enemy that is allying themselves with the Cylons. The writer gets this series and all the characters feel just like they were on the TV show. This is definitely an enjoyable series.

The Galactica is traversing the territory of the alien Kiernu. The Kiernu had denied entry to their territory but the fleet doesn’t have the fuel to go around. Apollo, Starbuck and Boomer are leading the Kiernu ships away from the fleet. They succeed and the fleet leaves the alien’s territory. The Viper squadron going back gets a distress call. They find a ship being pursuit by Cylons. Naturally they destroy them and find the aliens are Okaati. This race also has a fleet and are fleeing some unknown race called the Comitat. The Okaati have all their ships armed and Apollo think that an alliance could be beneficial.

So in 2018 for the fortieth anniversary of the original series (Wow time has gone by) Dynamite released this series. Supposed to be a second season. So far this zero issue was an introduction at a cheap price to the series. I enjoyed the set up so far. This new races have some interesting potential. It also seems very respectful of the original series and has a feel of the classical series. Looking forward to reading this.
